About CMS Hospital Price Transparency
The CMS Hospital Price Transparency Rule requires hospitals to make their pricing information publicly available. Since January 1, 2021, hospitals must publish a machine-readable file containing pricing information for all items and services. Violations can result in penalties of up to $5,500 per day.
